Wow, even the U.S. Senate realizes that it has to act on its own accord now that they have President-elect Trump to contend with. That’s undoubtedly a big deal, especially since this is a bipartisan effort, which almost never happens in the political climate we now have.

It’s just proof that we need to find ways to organize and work together on resisting Trump even if many of our other core beliefs differ. This progressive article has gone viral for advocating for exactly how to build strong coalitions that can effectively resist Trump, and if you haven’t read it already you should absolutely do so now.

Because guess who the hero right now is? I can guarantee you didn’t see this one coming. Because that’s right, it’s none other than John McCain of all people. Occupy Democrats reports that Russian involvement in the hacking of the Democratic party to influence the election will receive a formal hearing next week (before the inauguration) thanks to Senator John McCain.

The news of the hearing and the sanctions have not bee welcome news to Trump who prefers the entire matter be brushed under the rug. Trump said, “It’s time for our country to move on to bigger and better things.” Trump’s position is as transparent as his skin is thin. It is the president’s sworn duty to uphold the constitution of the United States, and examining the Russian government’s influence on the presidential election should be Trump’s first order of business

But of course, this is one of many things that we can’t just ignore and brush aside. The stakes are far too high, and the implications of what this could mean for our country are just enormous. Are you going to take a stand yourself instead of just sitting back? Will you take this grassroots call to action?
