Trump sure could use some help picking his cabinet nominees. But why would anyone want to work with this train wreck of an administration anyway?

Seema Verma is President Trump’s nominee for administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Her job would be to head up the federal agency that administers Medicare and Medicaid.

Should Verma be confirmed, she would find herself as the potential scapegoat for the contentious political battle around overhauling Obamacare. Much like former National Security advisor, Michael Flynn was for Trump’s Russian ties.

GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch, the chairman of the Finance Committee, said:

“I suspect you also know that the job you’ve been nominated for is a thankless one, fraught with numerous challenges. The failings of Obamacare are urgent and must be addressed in short order.”

Sen. Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the panel, said leading CMS was “one of the most consequential positions in government.”

Wyden warned that the GOP efforts to dismantle the Obamacare, “would take the country back to the days when healthcare was mostly for the healthy and the wealthy.”

Earlier this week, CMS issued a proposal ordering insurers to shift to the Republican view of health coverage. The changes will give insurers a little more flexibility in designing their plans — which will likely mean lower premiums but higher deductibles and co-pays for consumers.

After the Republicans are done ruining everything President Obama did for healthcare in America, it will be up to Verma’s team to put it into action. Do you think she still wants the job?
