Just when the future of America looks as bleaker than ever, President Obama’s White House photographer comes through to restore some faith in humanity.
Friday, at a press briefing at the White House, the Trump administration denied several very big news outlets entry. However, the far-right Breitbart outlet was still allowed in.
President Trump is clearly trying to send a message that he doesn’t want actual, fact-based news to be reported; however, it seems as though he wants to set the narrative of what is allowed to be said.
As Republican Sen. John McCain has stated numerous times, this is what dictators do and goes against the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Therefore, Trump is directly defying the Constitution, and it’s terrifying.
Nevertheless, former White House photographer under President Obama, Pete Souza, posted an image to Instagram that should serve as a reminder to Trump and his administration that the press should be allowed at press briefings.
“Waiting with press secretary Robert Gibbs, right, for the start of a press conference in 2010. The New York Times, CNN and Politico were of course in attendance (as well as Fox News).”
How epic is this? President Obama abided by the Constitution, but the question remains, will Trump?
