In an interview earlier this week with Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said that President Obama’s “legacy is like one of those dolls that, as the air comes out of it, shrinks and shrinks and shrinks. He’s in this desperate frenzy.”
Just last week, Obama administration vetoed regulations that could have been used to reboot the George W. Bush administration’s program known as NSEERS, the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System. The regulations required men under 25 from many Muslim-majority countries to register with US immigration authorities.
These regulations would fall right in line with President-elect Trump’s ban on foreign Muslims from the US during his campaign.
Sadly, Trump has repeatedly vowed during the campaign to undo many of the wonderful things that Obama has done during his amazing eight years in office.
Gingrich said, when speaking on Obama’s policies, “almost all of which will be repudiated by Trump.”
Obama, being the classy man that he is, has largely avoided criticizing Donald Trump during the transition of power and has even consulted with the racist president-elect on several occasions as an act of good faith. Hopefully, Obama can make Trump understand why he made the decision he did, so that Trump can continue the legacy.
Bottomline, we cannot allow Trump to undo all the great work that President Obama has done.
