People were definitely already skeptical when the moderator schedule for the upcoming presidential debates was released. After all, why did they have a Fox News clown (Chris Wallace) moderating a debate for the first time? There’s a reason Fox, with its obvious bias and penchant for fake “facts,” has never moderated a debate before.
And then Chris Wallace said, in regards to his reporting on obviously false and unsubstantiated claims about Hillary’s health, the following: “That’s not my job. I do not believe that it’s my job to be a truth squad. It’s up to the other person to catch them on that. I certainly am going to try to maintain some semblance of equal time if one of them is filibustering, I’m going to try to break in respectfully and give the other person a chance to talk.”
So..facts aren’t important to the moderator of the final debate in one of the most critical presidential campaigns in our country’s history? And, as people have pointed out, a journalist’s job is absolutely to separate fact from fiction. So at least Wallace admits that he’s not a journalist after all, in any sense of the word.
