BREAKING: Senate Intelligence Committee To Force Trump To Produce His Tax Returns [Details]

As part of the investigation into Trump’s ties with Russia, the Senate might force Donald Trump to hand over his tax returns.

Throughout his campaign, Trump claimed he would release his tax returns when his audit was complete. But, now, a Republican senator is demanding Trump’s returns.

Maine’s Senator Susan Collins gave an interview on a Maine public program where she discussed the Trump/Russia investigation:

‘All of us are determined to get the answers. In some ways, this is a counterintelligence cooperation — in many ways — and that’s what our committee specializes in.’

Collins stated that would like President Trump’s previous national security adviser Michael Flynn to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee’s investigation.

‘If it’s necessary to get to the answers then I suspect we would.’

The senator said the committee would subpoena the president’s tax returns if he did not release them voluntarily. Trump’s returns would likely show any conflicts of interest he or his companies have with Russia.

This is the first time a GOP member of Congress has said she would be willing to go into Trump’s tax returns. Collins said that “many of the members” on the Intelligence committee are willing to formally demand Flynn to testify.

The Trump administration claims that Flynn lied to Vice President Pence about his conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak in late December. Several intelligence officials revealed that Flynn did in fact discuss the sanctions President Barack Obama imposed on Moscow with Kislyak.

Collins also said the committee should issue a public report as part of their process.

Will we finally get to see those Trump tax returns?
